"Saying goodbye to the silence" highlights the difficult
condition experienced by the deaf children or with hearing
difficulties. Their world of silence is really a world far
more complex than we are led to believe. This is because
everyone, more or less, is able to realize the difficulties,
partially illustrated in the article, belonging to the world
of this type of different skills. The article, however, puts
the focus over another type of difficulty that breaks into
this world of silence: the relationship with parents and
the rest of the social environment [1]. In this regard the
Robert clinical case well illustrates the difficulty and
the complexity of this intricate web of hardships and
situations, despite all, the success of supportive treatment
to the protagonist choices has inspired the title: saying
goodbye to the silence.
